Expect Extraordinary: 2025 New York State Exam Results
At Bold, one of our guiding beliefs is that Excellence takes Effort. In 2025, students embodied this belief—focused on developing the knowledge, skills, and daily habits that will ensure they are prepared to excel in college.
And they are well on their way. On the 2025 New York State Exam, students in Grades 3-6 demonstrated their learning with confidence, outperforming students across the city and state.
As a school, we believe in every student’s potential to achieve at the highest level and aim for 100% state test participation as we prepare all students to excel in competitive environments in middle school, high school, and college. In 2025, 22% of students who tested receive special education services and 26% are classified as language learners. All outperformed students across the city and state with overall proficiency rates of 85% ELA and 91% Math.
These results are one important measure of performance, but what’s behind them is most important—a shared belief in every student’s potential, a commitment to building knowledge that will drive academic and personal achievement over time, strong partnerships with our families, and a culture where we expect nothing less than extraordinary.
Our students are proud of what they achieved last year—and ready to raise the bar in 2026!

Bold Chess Earns National Recognition
Expect Extraordinary
At Bold, we hold a set of values and beliefs that guide all we do. Over the last two years, Bold Chess has modeled one of our core beliefs—Excellence Takes Effort—and proven what’s possible when we live our values, hold an absolute belief in each other’s potential, and work as a team to achieve our goals.
This year, the team set an ambitious goal—that by April, they would be ready to compete at the national level. This past weekend they traveled from Southern Boulevard in the Bronx to the National Elementary Chess Championship in Columbus, Ohio to compete against the best in the country.
They went in focused, confident in their skills, and ready to challenge themselves at a new level. They set their intentions and worked as a team, showing everyone what it means to Be Bold. And after seven rounds of play, they placed at the top of both of their divisions—taking third nationally in both K-3 under 700 and K-5 under 900 along with multiple individual medals.
Getting here was a true team effort, led by Coach Jarvis. From daily morning practice to weekend tournaments, every student, family, and team member worked together to support them in achieving this goal.
Join us in celebrating all they’ve achieved this year! And keep an eye on them—because they’re just getting started.
One Team. Forever Bold.
