Bold Chess Earns National Recognition

Expect Extraordinary

At Bold, we hold a set of values and beliefs that guide all we do. Over the last two years, Bold Chess has modeled one of our core beliefs—Excellence Takes Effort—and proven what’s possible when we live our values, hold an absolute belief in each other’s potential, and work as a team to achieve our goals.

This year, the team set an ambitious goal—that by April, they would be ready to compete at the national level. This past weekend they traveled from Southern Boulevard in the Bronx to the National Elementary Chess Championship in Columbus, Ohio to compete against the best in the country.

They went in focused, confident in their skills, and ready to challenge themselves at a new level. They set their intentions and worked as a team, showing everyone what it means to Be Bold. And after seven rounds of play, they placed at the top of both of their divisions—taking third nationally in both K-3 under 700 and K-5 under 900 along with multiple individual medals.

Getting here was a true team effort, led by Coach Jarvis. From daily morning practice to weekend tournaments, every student, family, and team member worked together to support them in achieving this goal.

Join us in celebrating all they’ve achieved this year! And keep an eye on them—because they’re just getting started.

One Team. Forever Bold.
