+ Director of Operations (Immediate)

POSITION SUMMARY
As the Founding Director of Operations at BOLD Charter School, you will be part of the founding leadership team and responsible for building a world-class school. You will lead the school’s operations team and be guided by the belief that building a world-class school depends on delivering operational excellence from the start. You will be part of a team that builds a sense of community, and is committed to ensuring our learning environment is immaculate, beautiful, and one that promotes high levels of learning. You will be part of a results-oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. The commitment for this position begins immediately.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing responsibilities of school start-up, including, but not limited to: recruiting and enrolling students, developing school-wide systems and routines, establishing systems for data collection and analysis, managing technology needs, recruiting and onboarding staff, ensuring facility readiness, managing vendor and contractor relationships, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Building a school culture that is joyful, engaging, and rigorous, and in which scholars love learning by delivering operational excellence.
  • Managing a team of school operations professionals in overseeing all logistics for school-wide events, family communications, scholar data collection, technology, and inventory management;
  • Advocating for all policies, procedures, and communications across the school community to drive scholar outcomes
  • Ensuring operational excellence and high level of detail in all areas of operations, from school aesthetics, to school health and safety protocols
  • Modeling BOLD’s core values and building a positive scholar and team culture across the school.
  • Developing strong relationships with families and scholars, including regular communication that creates high levels of investment in school culture and academics.
  • Collaborating with the school leadership team to ensure effective oversight of all components of the school, including scheduling, staff recruitment, data analysis, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrating a Mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all scholars excel.

Successful candidates should:

  • Be passionate about learning;

  • Have experience with or knowledge of school finance, budgetary planning, and data management;

+ Director of Student Support (2019-20)

POSITION SUMMARY
As the Founding Director of Student Support at BOLD Charter School, you will be part of the founding leadership team and responsible for building a world-class school. You will be responsible for ensuring that all scholars, including scholars with individual learning needs, English language needs, or scholars at risk of low achievement, receive the support they need to thrive in an academically rigorous learning environment. You will also ensure that all individualized education programs are implemented, and that additional resources are provided when necessary to ensure high achievement for all scholars. You will be part of a results-oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities for professional growth within the organization.

The commitment for this position begins July 1, 2019. Given the demanding work of founding a world-class charter school, however, there will be opportunities and requirements to begin the work before the official start date.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring high achievement for scholars with special needs, scholars that are English language learners, and scholars that are at risk of low achievement.
  • Overseeing the Response to Intervention system.
  • Overseeing all special education processes and ensuring all scholars who need services receive them.
  • Building strong relationships with scholars, teachers, and families and investing each stakeholder group in attendance, homework, school culture initiatives, and the overall academic success of each scholar.
  • Building a school culture that is joyful, engaging, and rigorous, and in which scholars love learning.
  • Managing teachers and being accountable for moving their instructional practice and their scholars’ academic achievement.
  • Building instructional capacity of all teachers by providing regular coaching and feedback on lesson implementation, relationship-building, classroom management, and school-wide systems and routines.
  • Modeling BOLD’s core values and building a positive scholar and team culture across the school.
  • Collaborating with the school leadership team to ensure effective oversight of all components of the school, including scheduling, staff recruitment, data analysis, and operational excellence.

  • Ensuring scholar attendance is recorded and reported on a daily basis, and that all scholar forms are completed, collected, and organized regularly.
  • Executing school systems and logistics, including overseeing school food, event planning, budget and procurement, and vendor relationships.
  • Managing the schedule and calendar of the School to ensure building is ready for visitors and families are informed of upcoming events and opportunities.
