Director of Data

Allyson Songe is the Director of Data at Bold Charter School. Ms. Songe believes that data is an important tool in the learning process through its ability to inform, connect, and realize insights that drive student success. Her passion for using data to support educational achievement began in her roles as Data Manager and Director of Data and Research at a high performing charter network in Bronx, NY. Prior to working in data, Ms. Songe taught and created music curricula for K-8 instrumental and general music programs. Ms. Songe earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Northwestern State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from Hunter College.

Andrew Foglia is the Founder and Executive Director of Bold Charter School. Mr. Foglia’s commitment to improving public education began during his tenure with Teach For America, during which he taught middle school math and science in Newark, NJ. After Teach For America, Mr. Foglia joined a high-performing charter school in New York City, where he was both a teacher and school leader. Mr. Foglia is dedicated to increasing access to world-class schools for all children, and leads Bold in service of that mission. Mr. Foglia earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a Masters in Education from Harvard University.

Arelah Thompson is the Dance Teacher at Bold Charter School. She has over 15 years experience in teaching dance. She has a strong background in Hip-Hop, Dancehall, African, Jazz, Contemporary and Salsa. As an educator, she's passionate about nurturing the next generation of students, providing an inclusive environment, and encouraging students to reach their fullest potential in both dance and daily life. She believes that through dance students can freely express themselves and increase self confidence. In addition, Arelah Thompson is the CEO/Founder of Arelah's Dance Academy which is located in Brooklyn. She looks forward to inspiring students and sharing her love and passion for dance.

Bryant Tapia is a Sports Teacher at Bold Charter School. Mr. Tapia 's passion for working in sports was inspired by his high school wrestling coach and physical education teacher. Through the hard work in the vigorous sport of wrestling he developed a deep admiration for the field of physical education and its importance for youth development. He has been teaching youth sports for the past 10 years working with children ages 3 to 10 at Manhattan’s largest sports complex. He also worked in an after school program as a sports specialist, teaching elementary and middle school sports, fitness, and nutrition. Mr. Tapia earned a Bachelor of Science from CUNY York College and a Master of Science in Exercise Science from CUNY Queens College.

Ms. Chang started her career teaching 6th grade ELA in Passaic, NJ with Teach For America. She then taught middle and high school English for nine years at an independent school in New York City, where she worked on developing and refining curriculum in addition to teaching multiple grade levels. Ms. Chang earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Master of Arts in English from Middlebury College.

Estefany has always wanted to work with children and her passion was confirmed during an internship with a kindergarten class when she was only 17. After receiving her undergraduate degree from Hunter College she decided to continue her studies at Hunter and pursue a gradate degree in early childhood education. After completing her first year as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, she is excited to join a team that is committed to helping students reach their full potential. She hopes to provide her students with the tools to be their best selves and to do so by them in recognizing the curiosity, power, and potential within themselves, both inside and out of the classroom.

She firmly believes that sports not only develop physical fitness but also instill valuable life skills such as discipline, resilience, and leadership. By creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, Coach Watson empowers students of all skill levels to strive for excellence, set and achieve their goals, and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. She is actively involved in our school's physical education curriculum development and collaborates with other faculty members to create engaging and dynamic lessons that cater to diverse student interests and abilities. Outside of school, Coach Watson continues to pursue her own athletic endeavors. She runs a summer basketball tournament in New York City. She is a Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, and Basketball Trainer who stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in sports training techniques. Livia Angiolillo is the Managing Director of Schools at Bold Charter School. Prior to joining Bold, Livia worked with Ascend Public Charter Schools, where she served as the Principal of Brooklyn Ascend High School, Interim Principal of Brownsville Ascend Middle School, and Interim Director of Grades 5-12. Preceding her time at Ascend, Livia co-founded Uncommon Collegiate Charter High School, a high-performing high school in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Livia also participated in three Uncommon Schools fellowship programs, served as an Education Pioneer, and held positions at Harlem RBI DREAM Charter School and the Legal Aid Society Education Advocacy Project. Livia holds a bachelor's in English and fine arts from Amherst College, a joint MA/EdM in education organization and leadership from Columbia University's Teachers College, and a JD from Columbia University School of Law.

She has experience working with not-for-profit agencies that provide services to individuals diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Matt Gould is the founding Chief Financial Officer at Bold Charter School. Mr. Gould began his career as a management consultant where he focused on operational efficiency before moving to the non-profit sector to pursue his passion of advocating for educational equity. Mr. Gould's commitment to education was deeply ingrained in him from an early age by his mom, who was a public school teacher for over 40 years. He has spent the past 17 years as an enterprise and operations leader at two education-reform organizations, Teach for America and Educators for Excellence, and is excited to bring those skills to Bold to support its efforts to educate our next generation of leaders. Mr. Gould earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration degree from Yale University.

Ms. Scognamiglio then joined a high performing charter network serving as a Specials Projects Manager, Instructional Coach, and founding School Director. Under her leadership, the school won the National Blue Ribbon Award and regularly had among the highest pass rates in New York State. Ms. Scognamiglio earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University and a Master of Science in Education from Lehman College.

Suleidy De La Cruz was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, where she spent her high school years tutoring and working with students in various capacities. After moving to the Bronx, she attended Bronx Community College where she obtained her Associates in Liberal Arts degree, followed by a bachelor's degree in Education and Child Study from Smith College. Her passion for education stems from her belief that education is the key to sustainable change. As a first generation college student, she has witnessed the transformative power of education, and is dedicated to fostering and creating opportunities for all students. She is deeply passionate about promoting educational equity and is currently a 2023 Teach for America corps member.
